About

My Grandfathers generation knew how  to survive. They had gardens, they knew how to hunt and repair and mend and make things go farther than than anyone thought possible. From cars to clothes, they didn’t discard them until they were beyond worn out and then they used them for something else. We are a generation of wasters. We buy a soda in a nice plastic cup and then throw it away. We waste countless tons of food everyday. If a sock gets a tiny hole, we throw it out. We leave lights on. Because we have grown up in abundance, we haven’t experienced scarcity.

This site  has tips, ideas and projects to help you get the most out of everything you buy and things to build to save money and make life a little easier.

Welcome and I hope you enjoy your visit.
