We are living in a time of unprecedented upheaval and danger. Things have degraded so rapidly that a person awaking from a coma wouldn’t recognize the world we live in.
In my lifetime I have watched society in general devolve from a healthy group of citizens with common goals that typically included industriousness, marriage, family, country and faith into a mass of Godless, self obsessed, gender confused, doped, drugged and corralled texting sheeple, incapable of critical thinking and with their palms up always out and up, awaiting the next handout.
Volumes could be written on the reasons for the complete disintegration of society, but I firmly believe the causation is really quite simple. We have not only lost our moral compass, but we are teaching the youth that one never existed.
Patriotism and prayer weren’t exclusive of each other, and were unabashedly and enthusiastically embraced. We knew as a society that God almighty had blessed us and we were grateful. We fought and won wars that stopped madmen whereas now we send brave men and women to all parts of the globe to fight corporate and political wars. Our “leaders” act with absolute impunity and arrogance. Corruption is rampant in all sectors of society, government, corporate and private. We have people that should be in prison running for office because obfuscation, lies and cover ups are the norm and not the exception. Traitorous behavior is commonplace, and when you look back and see when this country was at its apex, its moral compass was at its strongest.
I weep for my grandchildren. They will never experience the power of patriotism that attracted and united people of all countries and cultures with a common goal of becoming an American citizen. Not for the handouts, but for the opportunity to do great things and contribute. They will never experience a society that used Gods commands as the moral compass, with huge corporations sponsoring television and radio programs that extolled the virtues of the Creator and moral living, and where the majority of politicians overwhelmingly acknowledged God and kept Him in mind when carrying out their duties.
I weep because they will never see a society comprised of nuclear families, as God intended but rather will grow up in a country that promotes and knows no limits on degeneration, and actively oppresses those that oppose it. They will shoulder the staggering debt of profligate politicians that spend obscene amounts of money on even more obscene causes.
There is nothing I would like more than to tell you how great things are and how they are just getting better, but that isn’t the truth. The “truth” is becoming a rarity nowadays, and it behooves us to use Gods moral compass to keep us moving forward with a goal when all others are wandering, with a lack of purpose and unsure of why they are even here.
These are terrifying times, however, there is a history book that offers the best advice on earth and in heaven, when the world is overwhelming and fear is creeping in:
Safety of Abiding in the Presence of God
91 He who dwells in the secret place of the Most High Shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty. 2 I will say of the Lord, “He is my refuge and my fortress; My God, in Him I will trust.”
3 Surely He shall deliver you from the snare of the fowler[a] And from the perilous pestilence. 4 He shall cover you with His feathers, And under His wings you shall take refuge; His truth shall be your shield and buckler. 5 You shall not be afraid of the terror by night, Nor of the arrow that flies by day, 6 Nor of the pestilence that walks in darkness, Nor of the destruction that lays waste at noonday.
7 A thousand may fall at your side, And ten thousand at your right hand; But it shall not come near you. 8 Only with your eyes shall you look, And see the reward of the wicked.
9 Because you have made the Lord, who is my refuge, Even the Most High, your dwelling place, 10 No evil shall befall you, Nor shall any plague come near your dwelling; 11 For He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you in all your ways. 12 In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone. 13 You shall tread upon the lion and the cobra, The young lion and the serpent you shall trample underfoot.
14 “Because he has set his love upon Me, therefore I will deliver him; I will set him on high, because he has known My name. 15 He shall call upon Me, and I will answer him; I will be with him in trouble; I will deliver him and honor him. 16 With long life I will satisfy him, And show him My salvation.”
When everything around you is falling apart, remember that God is still in control and in Him we can find true comfort.
