Are We in the Eye of the Hurricane?

THe Real SOTUIt’s hard not to get dispirited when you look at how far downhill this great country has gone. We are seeing not just the unraveling of societal fabric, but the very shredding of it, much like a flag in a hurricane. The family unit is no longer, the God given institution of marriage has been redefined by godless judges, removing the very necessary cornerstone of a civil society.

Right now, things are quiet, so to speak, perhaps because we have been lulled into a false sense of passivity. Gas prices are down, Ebola hasn’t taken off, the government says the economy is looking up and the Dow is setting record after record. But while it might look like things are settling down, I firmly believe it is simply the eye of the storm.

Now I have no insight into what will happen tomorrow any more than I know what will happen in 3 years. In fact I wrote an article two years ago about how time was growing short, and the need to prep was critical.  Well, here it is two years later and TSHasn’tHTF. We need to remember that the powers that are in charge of this slow motion train wreck have a lot of creative manipulations and “fixes” as well as trillions of our dollars to create the illusion of improvement when in fact, things have never been more volatile.

Things that would have had us up in arms as a nation are now so commonplace that we are jaded and desensitized. Imagine what Reagan’s response to the beheading of an American would have been? How about to the mass slaughter of Christians? We tolerate things we can’t change like the government and companies spying, a clear violation of our rights, yet what can we do?

Well, I believe we are about to enter the eyewall of this hurricane we have been riding out for years, and here is why: This past election was staggering in terms of turnover, yet the old guard republicans will more than likely squander this great opportunity to change things for the better. John Boehner and his cohorts are feckless politicians, lacking the courage, integrity and grit to do the right thing.

Does anyone honestly think they will reign in the spying, taxes, inflation, Obamacare, the abuse of  power or decimation of our constitutional rights? Once a government implements a program, it is almost impossible to rescind it. They like the money and the power.

There is light at the end of the tunnel, however, and it isn’t another train. Americans are waking up. Preppers used to be considered fringe and a sort of pariah, yet the recent wave of storms, civil unrest, fires, droughts and countless other catastrophes have shown even the skeptics that a little prepping could go a long way.

As to what tomorrow, or next week or next year brings, I can say with almost absolute certainty that the people in power will not willingly give it up. The greedy will continue in their avarice, the voyeurs will continue to spy and those that abuse power will continue to abuse it.  Ecclesiastes sums it up; “there is nothing new under the sun”.

However as we all know, it will reach “critical mass” at some point, whether it is in the form of a market meltdown, hyperinflation, Global rioting, famine, egregious abuse of power or a political scandal that calls for pitchforks and torches, possibly all of the above.

Until it hits the tipping point, you have time to continue to prep, physically, mentally and spiritually, and when we do enter the other side of the hurricane, remember Matthew 7:25  and be like the wise man who built his house on the rock. 25 “The rain came down, the streams rose, and the winds blew and beat against that house; yet it did not fall, because it had its foundation on the rock.”

Good points. When my best friend died last month, he said he felt sorry for those of us he was leaving behind because of all we’d have to go through. He was thinking of things like ongoing Fukushima radiation, GMO foods, weather modification, the growing police state, etc.

Your dying friend was misguided. We have it very easy in the USA compared to some in this world, and in fact we have it very easy compared to our ancestors. We are prepping to be ready in case the world reverts back to the 1850s and many won’t survive. Yet our ancestors not only survived the 1850s, they thrived!

I’ll take life over death any day.

Great article! We can use this time to be “wise as serpents and meek as doves.” Continue to prep, practice, prepare, learn or hone skills. Draw closer to God, family and friends. Best time spent is reading the Bible. He comes soon!
